The Dallas Star referred to Cuthbert as "my sloppy seconds," in an attempt to poke fun at rival Dion Phaneuf, who is currently dating the ‘24’ star. Back then, Avery said, “I would like to sincerely apologize for my off-color remarks to the press yesterday from Calgary.”
