Shakira is set to sign a $70 million contract with Live Nation.

The 'Hips Don't Lie' singer is following in the footsteps of Madonna and Jay-Z by handing over management of recording, merchandising, ticket sales and other services usually handled by separate companies.

The deal is expected to be finalised by the end of the year.

However, the 31-year-old chart-topper's recording rights currently belong to Sony BMG's Epic Records and she still has two more studio albums to deliver - one in English and one in Spanish - as well as a greatest hits collection.

Talks have been ongoing for 10 months, sparking speculation the deal could actually be worth much more.

Jay-Z is believed to have received a staggering $150 million, while Madonna reportedly earned $120 million.

There is no indication of how long the contract will last, but both Madonna and Jay-Z have signed to Live Nation for 10 years.

Dolly Parton is set to make a surprise appearance at this year's Glastonbury music festival.

The country music legend - who is in the middle of her 'Backwards Barbie' UK tour - is reportedly set to perform at the world famous three-day event on Sunday (29.06.08).

Organiser Emily Eavis revealed on Wednesday (25.06.08) a last-minute surprise guest was set to play - but refused to say who.

She told the official Glastonbury festival website: "We've just confirmed a really exciting last-minute surprise on The Park Stage, but we can't announce that yet."

The name had been kept under wraps until today's reports that the '9 to 5' singer is to play at the event which begins today (27.06.08).

Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand are another last-minute addition to the bill. They will perform tonight on The Park Stage at around 10pm.

This year's Glastonbury festival, which takes place in Somerset, South West England, is headlined by rockers Kings of Leon, rap star Jay-Z and indie old-timers The Verve.
