Monica Keena Ripe

Monica Keena was born in New Jersey on May 28, 1979, the daughter of Mary, a nurse, and William Keena, a financial sales manager. She was raised in Brooklyn, and has an older sister named Samantha. Monica auditioned for acceptance into La Guardian High School of Performing Arts at the age of thirteen. Although she chose the drama department as her preference, she was accepted in both the dramatic and the vocal arts departments. Soon after starting her classes at LaGuardia, Keena played in her first role in a short film entitled Burning Love.

Monica Keena Apatow has brought us one great comedy after another in the past couple of years. The 40 Year-Old Virgin, Monica Keena, Knocked Up, Superbad, and the upcoming Forgetting Sarah Marshall, are just a few of the films he has under his belt. Superbad in particular really depicted the high school experience. It centered on this time, but acknowledged that the next step of college was fast approaching. In Apatow’s T.V. series, Undeclared, Monica Keena covered this next step while still having many youthful elements in it brought out wonderfully by the top notch writing, likeable characters, and great acting including those who have become some of Apatow’s go to guys.
